Google Unveils PhotoScan App To Digitise Your Memories

Google on Wednesday has launched a new 'PhotoScan' app that lets users to scan and digitise your old photos from the phone. The app is available for both Android and iOS devices on the app stores.

Google on its blog,

PhotoScan is a standalone app that easily scan and gets digital copies in seconds. It detects edges, straightens the image, rotates it to the correct orientation and removes glare to make a perfect photo. All the scanned photos can be saved in a single tap to Google Photos to be organised, searchable, shared and safely backed up at high quality.

Furthermore, Google has introduced new photo editing tools on its updated Google Photos app like auto enhance and etc. To edit your photos:

  • Simply open a photo
  • Tap on the pencil icon to start editing
  • Just select Auto and see instant enhancements
  • Then choose your style from the 12 new looks
  • And the advanced editing controls for light and color allows you to fine tune photos, including highlights, shadows and warmth. 

The Google Photos app with the new photo editor has begin rolling out across Android, iOS and the web.
