How To Stop WhatsApp Sharing Your Phone Number With Facebook

WhatsApp has recently changed its privacy settings and not for the better. Every WhatsApp user has got a notifications on their smartphones.

The new privacy setting will allow users to share their personal data and phone number with parent company Facebook. This will allow the company to run analytics on user activity, serve targeted  ads and send you friend requests for people with whom you talk to in WhatsApp.

By gods grace, there is a way to opt out from this. If you don’t want your phone number shared with Facebook, you can opt out now before the window closes. WhatsApp may change its privacy policy anytime, but you should take care of your data.

All you need to do is just follow the below steps:

Option 1: Read the Terms and Conditions

Whenever you update to the latest version of WhatsApp, you’ll find a note with Terms and Conditions. Once the app is done updating, don’t tap "Agree" just yet! And now scroll down then uncheck the box that says - share your WhatsApp info with Facebook.

Option 2: From Your Settings

If you have already updated to the latest version and installed the app. Go to WhatsApp settings and tap on Account. Here, you’ll find an option - Share my account info with a brief description, just uncheck that box and you are done.

Conclusion:

We recommend you to check with the Terms and Conditions and Policies of all the apps whenever you install them on you smartphone to not only protect your phone but also protect your data.
