WhatsApp Beta Users Can Now Make Video Calls

WhatsApp started testing the much-awaited video calling feature and soon will be available for Android users . The feature works in WhatsApp beta mode so only the beta users can use for now.

The feature is currently available for Android and Windows Phone beta users, so iPhone users may have to wait for sometime to get the feature. Beta testers will have to update their WhatsApp app to latest 2.16.318 version to access the feature.

WhatsApp has given two options when pressing the call button in the app - voice call and video call. While the voice calling is already available in the app, and the video call option will enable users to view the video of the person he or she has called via chat app. User can even mute the call and will also be notified in case they have a missed call.. Additionally, there is an option to change from front camera to rear camera.

The call log will now show all the call details including the video calls with a small video icon and audio calls with a phone icon on the side of the contacts.
