WhatsApp Adds Two-Step Verification Option For Android Beta Users

WhatsApp has introduced a new two-step verification feature on its Android ‘beta’ app. This feature helps users to add more security to their account. Lets check out what's it about...

The two-step verification process will enable user to enter a security code when setting up the account on a different device. To enable this feature for your WhatsApp account, you need to have a beta version installed on your device.

To become a Beta tester, you need to search for 'WhatsApp Messenger' in Play Store on your mobile, and keep scrolling down to see 'Become a beta tester'. Then hit on 'I'm In' to sign as a beta tester and you will be accepted within a few minutes.

Now once you have installed the beta app on your phone, open WhatsApp, move onto settings, go to account, and you can will see the two-step verification feature. Just tap on it to enable, then you’ll be asked to enter a six-digit code. This code will protect your account from being used by someone else when your phone is not with you.

When enabling this feature, users will get an option to add their email address for further protection. And by linking the email, users can restore the security code if they forget.
