It has been confirmed officially that iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus doesn't have 3.55mm audio jack. Apple wants to upgrade people in using the old hundred year technology to latest wireless technology.
Keeping in mind that the upgrade doesn't happen overnight, Apple has bundled up two accessories with the latest iPhone 7 devices. Alongside customers will get lightning powered earpods and a 3.5mm headphone jack adapter for free with these devices. However, if you happen to lose the lightning earpods or the adapter, you will have to buy them separately for $29 and $9 respectively.
The adapter will serve the purpose and won't let users feel the sudden change in their favorite 3.5mm headphones. Attaching the adapter to your headphones will now make them work on an iPhone 7 devices, however, it won't let you charge while you listen to audio. If you want to do both, then buy a $49 lightning dock, as it comes with a 3.5mm audio jack allowing you to listen to music and charge your device simultaneously.
Apart from these, Apple also launched Beats Solo3, Powerbeats 3, and BeatsX wireless headphones, which powered by the same W1 chip that powers the AirPods. The W1 chip allows the new wireless headphones to pair quickly and easily with the iPhone 7 devices.
The headphone Solo3 is priced at $299, Powerbeats 3 at $149 and the BeatsX at $149. The Solo3 is already available to buy on Apple store, while the other two headphones will be made available later this year.
