VLC 3.0 Adds Support Of 360-Degree Video Playback

VLC media player is a popular application that has an ability to play all types of audio and video formats. And now, VideoLAN - the makers of VLC have updated a 360-degree video feature to make it totally different from other media players.
The technical preview of VLC 3.0 version was released on Saturday, that incorporates technology from 360-degree camera maker Giroptic allowing media player to achieve its newest functionalities. This includes playback of 360-degree videos and photos such as panoramic. It also supports the spherical display mode, which is another step toward full VR capability.
The new features can be controlled using the keyboard and mouse. as the software is open source. Currently the version 3.0 is available only for Windows 7 and higher OS along with mac 10.10 and higher OS. It is expected that new version 3.0 will soon be rolled out for Android, iOS and Xbox One. The mobile version will use the phone sensors to navigate inside the videos.
The final release of VLC 3.0 version would be launched on 30th November 2016. And to know more, VLC is not the first video player to offer 360-degree playback support as many other applications have already added in them,
