Do Really Facebook Collecting Your Aadhar Data?

It was rumoured on the Social media that "Facebook is collecting the Aadhar data (a 12 digit biometric identification number) to link social media accounts on the first".

Few users were claiming that while creating Facebook account it was asking for aadhar number. But later after considering the rumors about Aadhar on Facebook, the company has posted on its blogspot saying,

We are not collecting any data on Aadhar from users and we do not require their Aadhaar name and number when they sign up on Facebook.

Facebook said that the goal of the test was to reduce fake accounts and help new users to understand how to sign up on Facebook with their real name and connect with their friends and family. This feature was shown to only few users - who were a part of the test.

The company said the test ran with few users in India and concluded that

We currently have no plans to roll this test out further.

Its been clearly told that Facebook isn't having any interest to steal users data on the website or app.
